Meet the team

We moved to Gables Farm in the summer of 2019 after being captivated by the character of the property and grounds. Although having been updated over the years the original features and character remained – including the outside toilets from when the farm was a working farm many decades ago.

We soon filled the old farm house with life and started about getting the old barns ready for visitors. The Dairy opened in January 2020 and The Parlour in July 2022. We have thoroughly enjoyed hosting people and families from all over the country and world; and all walks of life.

We have a very busy family home, with family coming and going, and the kettle is always on.

The Dairy and The Parlour are run by owner Frankie who is on hand at all times for guests to ensure they have a great vacation. From additional seating and plates to lifts to the pub! Frankie’s day job is a health and safety advisor for an engineering firm so don’t let her catch you standing on the top step of a ladder! The rest of the time she’s home enjoying her gardens with her best friend Ted the Cocker Spaniel. To say Ted loves everyone would be an understatement and can often be found waiting on the driveway for a belly rub. He even recognizes some of the dogs who have visited a few times and gets invited to play with them in their courtyard.

More about Gables Farm

The history behind Gables Farm is still unknown to us, although we have traced it’s history back 3 generations, we are yet to dig any further. We understand the farmhouse could be as old as 300-450 years old. So, watch this space as we try to find out more.

The Dairy is the largest barn behind our home with its own private courtyard, it’s great to host BBQ’s, keep children and pets safe and secure, lounge in the sun trap and read a good book to name a few things. The Parlour runs adjacent to this but is smaller and overlooks the tranquil pond setting with its own small patio area out the front. We welcome guests to have a walk round the pond and sit over at the little boat house to relax and take it all in.

We take pride in serving our guests with the best experience. Read what they have to say.

“Where do I begin? Lovely place. Hosts very friendly and welcoming. Property was immaculate. Recently renovated bathrooms with the most amazing shower I’ve ever used! King size bed that was so comfy and big enough that no one stole the duvet! Incredibly pet friendly. Lots of excellent walks and facilities nearby. “

“Perfect, never do these reviews but couldn’t not for here. Home from home and more whilst working away in the area. Breakfast hamper was provided which was a great touch. Beds are very comfy, super clean. Great showers. Bbq provided if wanted to use and also logs for the fire. The hosts couldn’t of been more helpful and welcoming. Would love to come and bring the family down here. Made working away much more easier knowing was going back to here. A real little gem which you wouldn’t be disappointed in 10/10.”

– Graham Marshall, Liverpool England

“The Dairy is a very well equipped, comfortable property with excellent hosts. The private courtyard/garden is lovely to relax and enjoy the sunshine and make use of the BBQ. Breakfast products supplied were amazing, keep up the good work Frankie & family.”

– Adrian Penniston, England

“Communication with Frankie was excellent from the start, and it was lovely to meet her and the family, also Parsley the cat and Ted the dog. We brought our cat Folk with us and he absolutely loves exploring the cottage and the courtyard, and Frankie could’t have been more accommodating. We made good use of the breakfast goodies (bread, eggs, cereals, etc including a pack of cat treats for Floki) and spent a lovely evening in the yard having a barbecue. During our stay we spent a day in Great Yarmouth, and another day trip to Norwich, both of them are very close. We also had some nice walks on the local beach. The cottage is excellent value for money and I can only recommend this to everyone.”
